Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first pulled up to Bluebell Dell – I mean, calling it a “hotel” feels a bit generous when you’re looking at a caravan, right? But you know what, this little gem tucked away in Auchengower Park completely changed my mind about what makes a great place to stay. The location is absolutely spot-on, sitting right along Shore Road with Loch Long literally a stone’s throw away. You can actually hear the water lapping against the shore when you wake up in the morning, which beats any fancy alarm clock.

The caravan itself is clearly brand new – everything inside has that fresh, never-been-used feel, and whoever kitted it out really knew what they were doing. The space is surprisingly well-thought-out, with proper storage (something you definitely don’t take for granted in a compact setup like this) and a little kitchenette that’s actually functional, not just for show. What really got me though was stepping outside in the evening – the views across Loch Long are properly stunning, especially when the light starts to fade and you can see the hills on the other side reflected in the water. There’s something quite magical about having that kind of scenery as your backyard, even if it’s temporary.

The park itself is well-maintained without feeling overly manicured, and parking’s straightforward – no hunting around for spaces or worrying about permits. Cove might not be the most happening spot (it’s pretty quiet, which I actually loved), but you’re only a short drive from Helensburgh if you need proper shops or restaurants. The Craigendoran area is just down the road too, so you’re not completely cut off from civilization. I’d definitely recommend this place, especially if you’re looking for something a bit different from the usual hotel experience. Just keep in mind it’s a caravan, so pack accordingly – but honestly, that 9.4 rating isn’t inflated. Sometimes the best accommodations are the ones that surprise you, and this little spot by the loch absolutely delivers on that front.
