Le Petit Robinson

Le Petit Robinson Overview
You know what struck me first about Le Petit Robinson? The name actually makes sense when you get there – this little place really does feel like you’ve discovered your own private island, tucked away in Champvert where honestly, most people just drive right through without stopping. I mean, La Copine isn’t exactly a bustling street address that’ll impress anyone, but that’s sort of the point. The hotel sits quietly in this pocket of Burgundy that locals keep to themselves, about twenty minutes from Nevers if you need actual civilization, but far enough out that you’ll hear more roosters than traffic in the morning.
The building itself has that lived-in charm you get with family-run places – it’s definitely showing its 3-star status, but in a good way, like your favorite worn-in jeans. The rooms are clean and honestly bigger than I expected, though don’t go in expecting marble bathrooms or those fancy rainfall showers. What you will get is thick stone walls that keep things cool even in July (trust me on this, air conditioning isn’t really a thing here), and windows that actually open to let in that countryside quiet. The beds are proper comfortable, and I slept better there than I have in some 5-star places in Paris – probably because there’s literally nothing to keep you awake except maybe the church bells from the village center. Parking is right there, no drama, no fees, which anyone who’s driven through French villages will appreciate.
Here’s what really won me over though – the breakfast situation. They do this whole spread with local cheeses and jams that clearly come from somewhere within a few kilometers, not some industrial supplier. The coffee’s strong enough to wake the dead, and if you time it right (around 8 AM usually), you’ll catch Madame chatting with the regulars who seem to treat this place like their personal café. It’s that kind of spot where you realize the 8.4 rating comes from people who get it – folks looking for authentic France, not Instagram France. The staff actually remembers your name after one night, which honestly feels rare these days. Sure, the WiFi gets spotty, and yes, you might hear some plumbing sounds from upstairs if you’re unlucky with room placement, but those feel like small prices to pay for stumbling onto something genuinely local. If you’re the type who needs room service and a concierge, keep driving. But if you want to feel like you’ve found a real piece of rural France – complete with that slightly musty old-building smell that somehow feels comforting rather than off-putting – Le Petit Robinson delivers exactly what it promises.
Travelers can book a resort that perfectly matches their vacation dreams, from beachfront properties to mountain retreats, ensuring every detail is crafted for maximum enjoyment and relaxation.

Mireille could not have been more helpful - there are a range of activities games etc on site and also you can rent bicycles etc. She is knowledgeable about the local area and has great suggestions. The site itself was very quiet (not many people when we were there) and a range of ages- grandparents, families, younger couples etc.

We stayed one night at Le Petit Robinson on a Eurovelo 6 cycle trip. We were quite pleased with our stay here as it was a change from hotel rooms. Our cabin was small but perfectly adequate with cooking facilities. There was a bike storage shed but our bikes were perfectly safe chained directly to the cabin. The staff said that they get many...

Our camping teepee was just lovely, clean, warm and had everything that we could need. Breakfast delivered to the door in a little basket each morning. Wish we could have stayed longer, just perfect.
