You’re literally minutes from the famous Lascaux caves, which is obviously why most people end up here, but what I loved was how peaceful it felt despite being so close to a major tourist attraction. The parking is free and right on-site, which saved me the headache of hunting for spots in Montignac’s narrow streets. Couples seem to absolutely love this area — I can see why, with all those scenic walking paths that wind through the valley. It’s the kind of place where you can explore prehistoric art in the morning and still feel like you’re escaping into nature.

It’s not huge, but it doesn’t need to be — sometimes smaller facilities feel more relaxing anyway.
