Jenolan Holiday Park Oberon
Jenolan Holiday Park Oberon Overview
You know what’s funny about Jenolan Holiday Park? The name makes it sound like it’s right at the famous caves, but it’s actually tucked away in Oberon town proper on Cunynghame Street – which, honestly, works out way better if you ask me. I mean, you get that proper country town vibe without being stuck in the middle of nowhere, and you’re still only about 20 minutes from all the cave action when you want it.
The place has this laid-back holiday park feel that really grows on you. It’s not trying to be some fancy resort – it’s more like that well-run park your family used to love, except the facilities are actually modern and the cabins don’t smell like old socks. The owners clearly know what they’re doing here, and you can tell they’ve put thought into the little things that matter when you’re settling in for a few days. Parking’s never an issue (thank god, because navigating Oberon’s main street with a loaded car gets old fast), and the check-in process is refreshingly straightforward – none of that corporate hotel rigmarole.
What really sold me on the place was how quiet it gets at night. Oberon’s one of those towns where things actually wind down after dark, so you’re not dealing with road noise or late-night chaos. The cabins are well-spaced too, so you’re not hearing your neighbors’ every conversation. During the day though, there’s this nice community feel – families hanging around the common areas, kids playing safely, that sort of thing. The facilities are definitely above what you’d expect for a holiday park, which explains the 4-star rating. I was honestly surprised by how well-maintained everything was, from the bathrooms to the BBQ areas. And here’s something practical – the wi-fi actually works, which isn’t always a given when you’re out in the Central West.
The location really is the sweet spot if you’re exploring this part of NSW. You’ve got the Jenolan Caves obviously, but you’re also perfectly positioned for day trips to places like Bathurst or even pushing through to the Blue Mountains if you’re feeling ambitious. Oberon itself is worth a wander – the main street has some decent cafes and that old-school country bakery that does proper pies. Plus, if you’re here in autumn, the drive through town is absolutely spectacular with all those deciduous trees they planted decades ago. Winter’s pretty special too, actually – Oberon gets proper cold and sometimes even snow, which gives the whole area this cozy mountain town atmosphere. Just pack accordingly because it can catch you off guard if you’re coming from Sydney expecting mild weather.

It’s seclusion (although close to town) the trees and their canopy created a very private environment also lovely to look out on. Immaculately clean all the amenities within our cabin were fabulous. Plenty of room to move.
What could be improved: Was nothing to dislike.

It was popular. We could find pretty much everything. Place was clean. Towels and sheets were clean. Everything worked that we used. The welcome booklet was very informative and had good suggestions for eating, local attractions and town services. There was excellent communication from the staff prior to and while we were there about getting in and...

What could be improved: Perhaps a small coffee/card table inside for playing games , card games with friends would be nice. 😊
Some of the crockery wasn’t washed properly from previous guests.
Danyon from Australia (December 2, 2024)
The cabin was very clean and homely. The bed was very comfy. The bathroom was small but clean and functional. The kitchen was very clean and was stocked with clean plates and mugs. What could be improved: The TV, when turned on at the power point, was making a loud buzzing noise that was irritating, so we turned it off. The shower was fully...

Small quiet park close enough to everything in town to walk to. Town has an IGA, The Royal Hotel, great for a meal and coldy and try DJ's coffee and B&E roll for breakie. The deluxe king cabin was well cleaned, came with a Super comfortable bed and bedding, fantastic water pressure in the shower and a small kitchenette equipped well enough to meet...
