Hotel Turan Prince – Ex Sentido Turan Prince

You know what struck me first about Hotel Turan Prince? The name change situation – it used to be Sentido Turan Prince, and honestly, you’ll still see both names floating around online, which threw me off initially when I was trying to find it. But once you’re there on Barbaros Sokak, it’s pretty unmistakable. The location is actually brilliant if you know Side at all – you’re tucked away in Gündoğdu, which means you get that five-star resort feel without being right in the thick of Side’s tourist chaos, but you’re still close enough to walk to the ancient theater and harbor when you want some culture with your vacation.

The property itself… well, it’s got that Turkish resort grandeur going on, you know? Big lobby, lots of marble, the whole nine yards. What I really appreciated though was how they’ve managed to keep things feeling relatively intimate despite being a proper five-star operation. The pools don’t feel like you’re swimming in a sea of humanity, and the beach access is genuinely nice – not one of those rocky disappointments you sometimes get along this stretch of coast. I mean, the 7.7 rating makes sense when you experience it; it’s solid, well-run, good service, but it’s not going to blow your mind either. There were a few small things – the WiFi could be stronger in some rooms, and breakfast gets pretty hectic around 9 AM if you’re not an early riser. But honestly, the staff really does try, and I noticed they remember your name after a day or two, which is more than you can say for a lot of places this size.

What really won me over was the evening vibe – once the sun starts setting and you’re sitting on their terrace with a drink, looking out toward the Mediterranean, it all clicks. The location gives you these gorgeous sunset views without the crowds you’d get at the main Side beach clubs. And if you’re planning to explore, you’re perfectly positioned – Manavgat’s river boat trips are a quick taxi ride away, and getting to Antalya airport is straightforward without being right under the flight path. The whole Gündoğdu area has this nice balance where you feel like you’re in a resort bubble when you want to be, but you can easily slip into authentic Turkish life when you’re ready for it. I’d definitely come back, especially in shoulder season when things are a bit quieter and the rates drop.
