The moment you’re settled into your own private hot tub looking out over the water, with nothing but the sound of ducks occasionally making a fuss and maybe some kids laughing in the distance from the main park area, you realize they’ve figured out something pretty special here.

The whole setup is refreshingly unpretentious – it’s not trying to be some fancy five-star resort, and that’s exactly why it works. Your accommodation comes with this brilliant outdoor hot tub that’s actually well-maintained (no weird chemical smell or dodgy temperature controls), and the views across the lakes are genuinely lovely, especially if you time it right for sunset. I’d recommend booking well ahead though, particularly for summer weekends, because word’s gotten out about this place. The 9.1 rating isn’t just inflated review nonsense – people genuinely love it here. What I found clever is how they’ve managed to give you that secluded feeling even though you’re technically part of Tattershall Lakes Country Park. You get your privacy for the romantic hot tub moments, but you can also wander over to the main facilities if you want some action or need to grab supplies.

The location is actually brilliant if you know Lincolnshire at all – you’re a stone’s throw from Tattershall Castle (proper medieval fortress, worth the climb up the tower), and Lincoln’s only about 30 minutes away if you fancy a proper day out. But honestly, most people just end up staying put because there’s something quite addictive about having your own little lakeside sanctuary. Check-in was straightforward, parking’s right there by your place (no dragging luggage across a massive car park), and the whole vibe is refreshingly low-key. Fair warning though – if you’re expecting room service and a concierge, this isn’t that kind of place. It’s more like having a really well-equipped friend’s cottage with the bonus of a hot tub and lake views. The only minor gripe I’d have is that the walls aren’t super thick, so if you get neighbors who fancy a midnight hot tub party, you’ll hear about it – but that’s pretty rare, and honestly, most people here are just couples looking to unwind anyway.
