Hideaway by Liv Retreats

HOTEL OVERVIEW
You know what’s funny about the Hideaway by Liv Retreats? I almost drove right past it because it’s tucked away in this holiday park near Metheringham that I’d never even heard of before. But honestly, that’s exactly what makes it special – it feels like you’ve stumbled onto something that wasn’t meant for tourists, even though it absolutely was.
The whole setup is pretty clever, actually. They’ve taken these modern pods and scattered them around White Horse Holiday Park, which sounds a bit caravan-y when you first hear it, but it’s actually quite lovely once you’re there. The Lincoln countryside spreads out in all directions, proper flat fenland that goes on forever, and there’s something oddly calming about how quiet it gets at night. I mean, properly quiet – no traffic, just the occasional sheep bleating somewhere in the distance. The pods themselves are surprisingly stylish inside, sort of Scandinavian-meets-glamping vibes with proper heating and decent Wi-Fi (which matters more than you’d think when you’re basically in the middle of nowhere). Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too – none of that corporate hotel nonsense, just friendly people who actually seemed to care whether you had everything you needed.
What I really appreciated was how they’ve managed to create this retreat feeling without being all precious about it. Yes, it’s designed for couples wanting to escape, but they’re not trying to convince you it’s some luxury resort. The pricing reflects that too, which is refreshing. Lincoln’s only about twenty minutes away if you want proper restaurants or the cathedral (which you should definitely see if you haven’t), but there’s something to be said for just staying put and enjoying the whole point of the place. The hot tubs are the real draw – each pod has its own, and there’s nothing quite like soaking outside when it’s properly cold, watching the stars come out over the fens. Parking’s right by your pod, so you don’t have to drag your bags anywhere, and honestly, the peace and quiet is worth the slightly remote location. It’s not going to win any design awards, but it doesn’t need to – it’s just a really solid place to disconnect for a night or two without having to remortgage your house.

We have been here before last year and it was great then, since then they have installed privacy screens around the hot tubs which were needed! The thai food wasn’t being served anymore which was a shame as it was so nice last time!

Loved the setup, good location and very homey. The hot tub was lovely and it was a lovely escape from reality back home. Road to the property was not bad at all as long as you go at a reasonable speed.

The staff were all friendly . Especially Claire Tracey and Tracey. I think if the pub wasn’t right on the site we could have been quite boring .
