Heathergate Boutique Holiday Park
First Impressions
When I first pulled up to Heathergate Boutique Holiday Park, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from the name — but this place surprised me in the best way. It’s tucked away in Lowgate, just outside Hexham, and feels more like discovering a hidden retreat than arriving at a typical holiday park. The setting is genuinely beautiful, with rolling countryside stretching in every direction and that peaceful Northumberland atmosphere you can actually feel when you step out of the car. The boutique approach extends throughout the entire property, creating an atmosphere that sets it apart from standard holiday accommodations.
The Accommodation
The room I stayed in was part of what they call their boutique approach, and I can see why couples are giving this place such high marks. Everything felt thoughtfully designed rather than just functional — you know what I mean? The space had character without being fussy, and the views from the window were exactly what you’d hope for in this part of the country. I mean, waking up to those Northumberland hills each morning actually made getting up early worth it. The attention to detail in every corner of the accommodation demonstrates a genuine commitment to guest comfort and satisfaction.
Location and Surroundings
The location really is something special, and those guest ratings aren’t exaggerating. You’re close enough to Hexham that you can easily explore the town’s abbey and market square, but far enough out that you feel properly away from everything. Hadrian’s Wall is practically on your doorstep — well, a short drive anyway — and the whole area is perfect for walking if that’s your thing. What I loved most was how quiet it gets in the evenings; you can actually hear the countryside settling down for the night. The surrounding landscape offers endless opportunities for outdoor exploration and peaceful reflection.
The Experience
This four-star property manages to feel both polished and relaxed, which isn’t always easy to pull off. The staff clearly know the area well and were genuinely helpful with suggestions for local walks and places to visit. There’s parking right there without any fuss, which might sound minor but makes such a difference when you’re exploring the region. The whole setup feels designed for people who want to properly unwind rather than just tick boxes on a sightseeing list. Every aspect of the service reflects a deep understanding of what guests truly need for a restorative break.
Why Guests Love It
I can absolutely see why this place scores so highly with visitors, especially couples looking for a peaceful getaway. It’s that rare combination of being well-run and genuinely relaxing, set in countryside that reminds you why Northumberland has such a reputation for natural beauty. You’re not just staying somewhere convenient — you’re staying somewhere that actually adds to the experience of being in this part of England. The fact that recent guests are rating the location a perfect 10 tells you everything you need to know about what you’ll find here. This property represents the best of what a modern boutique holiday park can offer to discerning travelers.

Really comfortable accommodation in a peaceful location. With the added benefit of the hot tub.The lodges are really spacious and well equipped with everything you could need. The new swimming pool, sauna, and steam room are a new addition to the existing gym for those that like to excersize. The resort is only 2 miles from the lovely market...
