Garden of the Gods RV Resort

First Impressions

When I first pulled into Garden of the Gods RV Resort, I honestly wasn’t expecting much — you know how RV parks can be hit or miss. But this four-star property in Colorado Springs actually surprised me in the best way possible. The setting is absolutely stunning, with those iconic red rock formations creating this dramatic backdrop that makes you feel like you’re camping in a postcard. The resort sits right on West Colorado Avenue, which means you’re close enough to everything but far enough away to actually hear yourself think.

Location & Surroundings

What really sets this place apart is how they’ve managed to position themselves perfectly for exploring the area. Garden of the Gods Park is literally right there — I mean, you can walk to some of the trails if you’re feeling ambitious. The location rating of 8.5 from recent guests makes total sense when you realize you’re minutes from Pikes Peak, Old Colorado City, and downtown Colorado Springs. Parking is completely free on-site, which is honestly a relief since some places in tourist areas will nickel and dime you for everything.

The Accommodations

The sites themselves are well-maintained and spacious — not those cramped spots where you’re practically sharing a picnic table with your neighbors. Each room (or RV site, really) comes with full hookups, and the facilities are clean and modern. What I appreciated most was how they’ve landscaped everything to blend with the natural surroundings rather than fighting against them. The mountain views from most sites are genuinely breathtaking, especially during sunrise when the red rocks catch that golden light.

Amenities & Activities

The resort offers more than your typical RV park setup. There’s a decent restaurant on-site, which comes in handy when you don’t feel like cooking after a long day of hiking. The pool area is actually quite nice — nothing fancy, but clean and well-maintained with those same incredible rock formations as your backdrop. They’ve also got a camp store for essentials, and the staff genuinely seems to know the area well enough to give solid recommendations for day trips and local attractions.

Why Guests Love It

Couples especially seem to fall for this place, and I can see why — there’s something romantic about watching the sunset paint those red rocks while you’re sitting at your campsite. The combination of natural beauty and solid amenities creates this perfect balance where you feel like you’re really experiencing Colorado’s outdoors without sacrificing comfort. The 7.8 rating reflects what you’d expect: it’s not perfect, but it delivers on what matters most. You’re paying for that incredible location and the chance to wake up to some of the most beautiful scenery in Colorado, and honestly, that’s exactly what you get.
