Gwalia Falls
First Impressions
When I first pulled into Gwalia Falls Caravan Park, I honestly wasn’t expecting much — but this four-star spot in Tresaith completely changed my perspective on what a caravan park could be. The sound hits you first, actually — there’s this gentle rushing of water that you realize is coming from the falls themselves, which are literally right there on the property. It’s one of those places where you step out of your car and immediately feel your shoulders drop a bit, you know what I mean?
The Natural Setting
The falls are genuinely spectacular, and I mean that without any travel brochure hyperbole. They cascade down into a rocky pool that’s perfect for a quick dip if you’re brave enough to handle Welsh water temperatures. What really got me was how they’ve managed to keep everything feeling wild and natural — there’s no over-development here, just well-placed pitches that make the most of the scenery. The coastal path runs right past the site, so you can walk down to Tresaith beach in about ten minutes, or head the other way toward Aberporth if you fancy a longer stroll.
Accommodation and Facilities
The pitches are spacious and well-maintained, with proper electrical hookups and clean facilities throughout. I stayed in one of their static caravans, and while it wasn’t fancy, everything worked perfectly — the kitchen was surprisingly well-equipped, and there’s something satisfying about making your morning coffee while listening to the waterfall outside. The shower blocks are kept spotless, which honestly makes such a difference when you’re staying somewhere like this. There’s also a small shop on-site for basics, though you’ll want to stock up properly in Cardigan before you arrive.
Location and Surroundings
Tresaith itself is this lovely little coastal village that feels properly Welsh — none of that touristy polish you get in some seaside towns. The beach has this dramatic waterfall that drops right onto the sand, which is pretty magical at sunset. Aberporth is just a couple of miles away if you need more amenities or fancy fish and chips by the harbor. I actually found myself spending most evenings just sitting by the falls with a book, which tells you something about how peaceful this place really is.
Why Guests Love It
The 8.7 rating makes complete sense once you’ve been here — it’s that rare combination of stunning natural beauty and practical comfort that’s surprisingly hard to find. Couples particularly seem to love it, and I can see why — there’s something genuinely romantic about falling asleep to the sound of running water and waking up to views of the Welsh coastline. The staff clearly care about maintaining the site’s natural character while keeping everything running smoothly. It’s the kind of place that reminds you why people started going on holiday in the first place — to actually disconnect and enjoy being somewhere beautiful.

I've visited Gwalia Falls many times but not since the lock down so it was refreshing to visit again and be in one of my favourite places with my son. He absolutely loved it too! The apartment we stayed in was beautifully designed and decorated. The kitchen was amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed preparing our meals in that space, it just flowed! ...
