3 Bed Static Caravan @ Hoburne Devon Bay

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard “static caravan,” I wasn’t exactly picturing anything glamorous. But this place at Hoburne Devon Bay actually surprised me in the best way possible. It’s tucked away on Grange Road in Paignton, and you know what? The location is pretty brilliant once you get your bearings. You’re close enough to hear the sea if you listen carefully on quiet evenings, but far enough from the main Paignton seafront chaos that you won’t be dealing with drunk teenagers at 2 AM.

The caravan itself is properly set up – three bedrooms that actually fit real adults (I mean, I’m not talking luxury hotel suite spacious, but you won’t be bumping elbows either). What I really appreciated was how everything just… worked. The shower had decent pressure, the kitchen had all the bits you’d actually need if you wanted to cook instead of living off fish and chips, and honestly, the whole setup felt more like staying in someone’s well-organized holiday home than typical caravan accommodation. The Hoburne site has this sort of holiday park vibe without being too in-your-face about it – there’s enough going on if you want activities, but you can easily ignore all that if you just want to use it as a base for exploring Devon.

Here’s the thing about staying here though – you’re perfectly positioned for day trips but with way better value than the boutique places right on Torquay seafront. Paignton station is close enough that you could actually get around without a car if you planned it right, and parking on-site means you don’t have to play the usual seaside parking roulette. I found myself using it as a launching pad for Dartmouth (gorgeous drive, by the way) and even nipping over to Totnes for the Saturday market. The surrounding area gets properly busy during school holidays – fair warning – but outside those times it’s got that lovely sleepy Devon coast feel. Evenings were surprisingly peaceful; you get the sounds of families winding down rather than party noise, which was exactly what I needed. It’s not trying to be something it’s not, which I genuinely respect. For the money, especially if you’re traveling with family or friends and want space to spread out, this beats cramped hotel rooms hands down.
