The way they’ve managed to create something that feels both intimate and polished without being stuffy.

Location & Setting

Mittlach is one of those Alsatian villages that feels almost too picturesque to be real, and this place sits right in the heart of it all. The location really is exceptional — I mean, you’re surrounded by hiking trails, you can walk to local spots easily, and there’s free parking right on site which is actually a big deal in these mountain villages. What couples seem to love most (and I can see why) is how peaceful everything feels here. The Vosges provide this incredible backdrop, and honestly, you feel like you’re in your own little world away from everything.

The Accommodations

The room I stayed in had this wonderful balance of mountain cabin charm and modern amenities. Think exposed wood beams and cozy textures, but with all the comfort you’d want from a quality hotel. The attention to detail is really something — from the way they’ve arranged the furniture to maximize those mountain views, to the thoughtful touches that make you feel genuinely welcomed. I particularly appreciated how quiet everything was; you can actually hear the sounds of the valley rather than traffic or other guests.

Breakfast & Hospitality

The continental breakfast here is — well, it’s one of those experiences that sets the tone for your entire day. Fresh local ingredients, proper coffee, and they serve it in a setting that makes you want to linger over your meal while planning your mountain adventures. The staff has this wonderful way of being attentive without hovering, and they clearly know the area well. I got some excellent hiking recommendations that I never would have discovered on my own.
