Echo Holiday Parks – Naracoorte
You know what caught me off guard about Echo Holiday Parks? It’s actually got this surprisingly relaxed vibe that doesn’t scream “typical caravan park.” I mean, when you pull up to 81 Park Terrace, you’re basically right in the heart of Naracoorte but it doesn’t feel cramped or noisy like some places can get. The whole setup sits pretty comfortably between the town center and those famous caves everyone comes to see – honestly, you could walk to the main shopping strip in about ten minutes if you felt like it.
The facilities here are solid without being fancy, which I think works in their favor. The amenities blocks are clean (and actually stay that way throughout the day, which is more than I can say for some places), and there’s enough hot water even during busy periods. I stayed during school holidays once and yeah, it gets lively with families, but the layout means you’re not on top of each other. The powered sites are decent sized – we had our van plus the car without feeling like we were playing Tetris. What I really appreciated was how level most of the sites are; you won’t be rolling out of bed in the middle of the night. The camp kitchen area actually gets used by people, which tells you something about the community feel of the place.
Here’s the thing about staying in Naracoorte – you’re in prime position for the Limestone Coast without the tourist markup of some other spots. The Naracoorte Caves are literally a fifteen-minute drive, and if you’re into wine (and let’s be honest, who isn’t?), you’ve got Coonawarra just down the road. The staff at Echo seem to get this – they’re pretty good with local recommendations that go beyond the obvious tourist stuff. I remember them pointing us toward this little bakery on Smith Street that honestly made better meat pies than half the places I’ve tried in Adelaide. The park itself might not win any design awards, but it does what it needs to do well – clean, functional, and reasonably priced. Plus the Wi-Fi actually works, which is becoming my baseline test for any accommodation these days. If you’re road-tripping through South Australia or using Naracoorte as a base to explore the caves and wineries, this place hits that sweet spot of being comfortable without breaking the bank.

Love this place we try and go once a year if not more and really enjoyed the new owners

The corella’s were very noisy and distruptive of the park. I feel for the owners the local council should be helping to move them on somewhere else

A great location, friendly staff, well equipped cabin and camp kitchen, and considerate fellow travellers made for a pleasant stay. What could be improved: The only negative, albeit minor, was a drip in the shower (audible in such a quiet location),and a particularly slippery edging( when wet) around the children's play area adjacent the camp...

Would have been great not to have had to pay for each game of mini golf; also to have had free access to all of the games in the game room.
