Echo Beach Tourist Park
You know what? Echo Beach Tourist Park isn’t trying to be fancy, and that’s honestly what I love about it. Tucked right on Roadknight Street—which locals just call “the strip”—this place has that laid-back Lakes Entrance vibe where you can actually hear the water lapping instead of traffic noise. I mean, the name says it all: it’s a tourist park, not some boutique resort, so don’t expect marble lobbies or chocolate on your pillow. What you get instead is something way better for this area—a place that actually fits the coastal town feel without breaking the bank.
The location is pretty much perfect if you want to be in the thick of things without the chaos. You’re literally a two-minute walk from the main jetty where all the fishing boats come in (great for early morning coffee watching, by the way), and the Entrance itself—that narrow channel where the lakes meet the ocean—is right there. The rooms are clean and functional, nothing fancy but they’ve got everything you need, including decent air con which you’ll definitely want during those sticky January weeks. Parking’s easy, which is actually a huge deal in Lakes Entrance because during peak season, finding a spot near the waterfront can be a nightmare. The staff knows the area really well too—they’ll tell you which fish shops are worth it and when the pelican feeding happens without you even asking.
Here’s the thing about this place: it gets busy during school holidays and long weekends, but it’s the good kind of busy where families are having barbecues and kids are running around with fishing nets. The 7.3 rating makes sense because it delivers exactly what it promises—comfortable, affordable accommodation in a spot where you can walk to everything that matters in Lakes Entrance. Sure, the walls aren’t super thick (you might hear your neighbors getting ready for their early fishing trip), and the decor won’t win any design awards, but honestly? When you’re spending your days out on the lakes or walking the boardwalks, you just need a clean, comfortable base. Plus, there’s something refreshing about staying somewhere that doesn’t pretend to be more than it is. It’s genuine Lakes Entrance hospitality—straightforward, friendly, and focused on helping you enjoy this beautiful part of Gippsland rather than impressing you with unnecessary bells and whistles.
The best resort villages feature carefully designed properties that harmonize with their natural surroundings, offering guests authentic experiences combined with luxury amenities and exceptional hospitality.

Roomy cabins. Stayed with 3 adults and one puppy. Everything was easy even though we were late checkout - staff provided clear instructions.

The site itself was smaller than expected but Lakes Entrance seems to be brimming with numerous sites.

Overall, the stay was good. The park offers a decent environment for a getaway. What could be improved: The bathroom door didn’t lock properly and kept opening by itself, making it difficult to use with family. Despite calling twice, no one came to fix it. • No WiFi was available. • The TV had no Netflix or video channels, only audio channels. ...
