Cedar bank 6

HOTEL OVERVIEW
You know what, Cedar Bank 6 is one of those places that actually gets Skegness right – and I mean that as a compliment. When I first pulled up to this converted Victorian house on Cedar Bank (which runs parallel to the seafront, about a three-minute walk from the beach), I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. It’s got this whole boutique thing going on without trying too hard, if you know what I mean.
The thing about staying here is that you’re properly in Skegness but not drowning in all the arcade noise and holiday chaos. Cedar Bank is this quiet residential street that most tourists never find – honestly, I walked past a few locals walking their dogs and it felt more like staying in someone’s neighborhood than being stuck in tourist central. The owner’s clearly put some thought into the rooms without going overboard with the fancy stuff. My room had these gorgeous original Victorian features – high ceilings, big windows that actually opened properly (you’d be surprised how rare that is) – mixed with modern touches that actually work. The bed was genuinely comfortable, and there’s proper blackout curtains which, let me tell you, you’ll appreciate when the seagulls start their morning concert at 5 AM.
What I really liked was how they’ve kept it personal without being intrusive. Check-in was straightforward, parking’s right there on the street (free, which is brilliant), and they’ve got all the practical stuff sorted – decent WiFi, good shower pressure, tea and coffee that doesn’t taste like cardboard. It’s about a seven-minute walk to the main drag with all the fish and chips shops, but you’re far enough away that you won’t hear the late-night revelry unless you want to join in. The train station’s maybe ten minutes on foot, which is handy if you’re coming up from London or anywhere down south. I mean, it’s not going to win any luxury awards – the carpet in the hallway’s seen better days and the walls are a bit thin – but there’s something refreshingly honest about the place. They’re not pretending to be something they’re not, and in a town where half the accommodation feels like it hasn’t been updated since the 80s, that’s actually quite refreshing. If you want to experience Skegness without feeling like you’re camping or staying in some soulless chain place, this hits the sweet spot nicely.
