Bramley Barn
First Impressions
Tucked away down a quiet country lane in Meopham, Bramley Barn feels like one of those hidden gems you’d stumble upon by accident and never forget. This four-star converted barn sits in the heart of Kent’s countryside, and honestly — the moment you pull up, you know you’ve found somewhere special. The rustic stone exterior blends perfectly with the surrounding farmland, while modern touches hint at the thoughtful renovation inside. There’s something immediately calming about the place, maybe it’s the way the old building seems to have grown naturally from the landscape.
The Setting
What strikes you most about Bramley Barn is just how peaceful it feels here. You’re surrounded by rolling Kent countryside, with footpaths leading off in all directions through fields and woodland — perfect if you want to explore on foot. The village of Meopham itself is quintessentially English, with a proper village green and a couple of decent pubs within walking distance. I mean, you’re still only about 30 minutes from the M25, so London’s accessible, but it feels like you’re in a completely different world. The parking is right on-site too, which takes away that usual arrival stress.
The Accommodation
The room I stayed in perfectly captured that barn conversion charm — exposed beams overhead, thick stone walls, but with all the modern comforts you’d want. The beds are genuinely comfortable (you know how hit-or-miss that can be in countryside places), and there’s plenty of space to spread out. What I really appreciated was the attention to detail in the conversion — they’ve kept the character of the original building while making sure everything actually works properly. The heating’s efficient, the shower has decent pressure, and there are enough power points where you need them.
Dining and Local Area
While Bramley Barn doesn’t have its own restaurant, that’s actually part of its appeal — it encourages you to explore the local area. The Cricketers in Meopham does excellent pub food, and it’s an easy walk across the fields when the weather’s decent. There’s also The George, which serves proper Sunday roasts that locals rave about. If you’re planning to stay in, the nearest decent supermarket is about a 10-minute drive in Gravesend, though honestly, the whole point of being here is to slow down and enjoy the countryside pace.
Why Guests Love It
Couples seem to particularly love this place — and I can see why. There’s something romantic about the combination of rustic charm and rural tranquility, especially when you can take evening walks through the surrounding countryside. The location consistently gets high marks from guests, and after spending time here, that makes complete sense. It’s that rare balance of feeling properly remote and peaceful while still being accessible to civilization when you need it. You’ll sleep better here than you have in months, guaranteed.

We loved the barn! It was spacious and very comfortable. The barn had all the essentials we needed and we felt very well taken care of! The yard outside was also very spacious with table tennis boards and football nets.

If we asked for extras like the ceramic plates or needed help the property replied quickly and were very helpful. The cabin was warm, shower amazing - hot and powerful. Cabin was spacious and there was a great garden (for if you visit in the summer). Location excellent, parking easy.
