Caravan At Haven Lakeland
First Impressions
When I first pulled up to Caravan At Haven Lakeland, I’ll be honest — I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from a caravan stay. But this four-star setup in Grange Over Sands completely changed my perspective on what holiday park accommodation can be. The location within Haven Lakeland is actually brilliant, tucked away from the main hustle but close enough that you’re not hiking miles to reach facilities. You know what really struck me? How peaceful it felt despite being part of a larger holiday park.
The Space and Comfort
The caravan itself surprised me with how spacious and well-thought-out everything was. The main room flows nicely into the dining area, and honestly, the kitchen has everything you’d actually need — not just the bare minimum. I mean, there’s proper counter space and decent-sized appliances, which makes a real difference when you’re staying for more than a couple of nights. The bedrooms are cozy without feeling cramped, and the whole place has this sort of home-away-from-home vibe that you don’t always get with holiday accommodation.
Location and Lake District Access
Here’s where this place really shines — the location is genuinely fantastic for exploring the southern Lake District. Grange Over Sands sits right on the edge of Morecambe Bay, and you’re literally minutes from some gorgeous coastal walks and proper fell hiking. The train station is close by too, which is handy if you want to venture further into the Lakes without dealing with parking headaches in places like Windermere or Keswick. I found myself spending evenings just walking along the promenade, watching the tide come in across the bay.
Holiday Park Amenities
The Haven Lakeland facilities are actually pretty impressive — there’s an indoor pool complex that’s great for rainy days (and let’s face it, this is the Lake District), plus entertainment venues and a decent restaurant on-site. What I appreciated most was that everything felt well-maintained and not overly crowded, even during peak times. The staff seem to know what they’re doing, and there’s this relaxed atmosphere that makes it easy to unwind. The evening entertainment is there if you want it, but it’s not so loud that it disturbs the peace if you’d rather have a quiet night in.
Why Guests Love It
I can definitely see why couples rate this place so highly — there’s something really appealing about having your own private space while still having access to all the holiday park amenities. The combination works brilliantly, especially if you want to explore the Lake District during the day and then come back to somewhere comfortable and well-equipped. The value is solid too, particularly when you consider you’re getting quality accommodation in one of England’s most beautiful regions. It’s that perfect balance of independence and convenience that makes this caravan stay feel special rather than just practical.

The caravan was spotlessly clean with plenty of space & an extra toilet I wasn't expecting. Equipment was quite limited - I was amused to see that for 4 adults, we were supplied with 3 mugs (no cups). For such a short stay, and out for most of it, it didn't really matter. Staff at the site clearly worked very hard and showed flexibility with role...

The caravan is perfect with 3 bedrooms so we actually had one spare which was great! The location of the caravan is literally a stone’s throw from everything but also still very quiet. This was good as you can let the kids wonder back and forth without worrying. Lots of grass area for the kids to play too.
