The pool area is where you’ll probably spend most of your downtime – it’s got that perfect spot where you can keep an eye on the kids while still feeling like you’re on vacation yourself. And here’s something the booking sites don’t tell you: the shower blocks are actually modern and clean, which… well, anyone who’s stayed at budget accommodation in tourist towns knows that’s not always a given.

What I really love about staying here is how it puts you right in the sweet spot for exploring the Whitsundays without the Airlie Beach price tag for everything. You’re literally a few minutes’ walk from the marina where all the day trips leave – those Whitehaven Beach tours, the snorkeling trips out to the reef, the sailing adventures that everyone comes here for. The resort runs a little shuttle service too, which is handy when you’ve had a big day out on the water and can’t be bothered with the walk back uphill.
