The park gets busy during school holidays and autumn when the leaves change – honestly, book ahead if you’re planning to visit then because half of Melbourne seems to have the same idea. But visit during a random Wednesday in winter? You’ll practically have the place to yourself, and there’s something quite nice about Beechworth when it’s not performing for tourists.
