Beautiful Lodge Hastings
First Impressions
Honestly, Beautiful Lodge Hastings caught me off guard in the best possible way. Tucked away on Ivyhouse Lane in the quiet village of Ore, this four-star property feels more like discovering a well-kept secret than checking into a hotel. The moment you pull up, there’s this sense of calm that washes over you β maybe it’s the mature gardens or the way the building seems to blend naturally into its surroundings, but you immediately know you’ve found something special.
Location & Setting
What I love about Ore is that it’s close enough to Hastings to explore the historic old town and seafront (about a 10-minute drive), but far enough away to feel like you’re in proper countryside. The location gets a 9.5 rating from guests, and I can see why β you’re surrounded by rolling hills and footpaths that lead through some genuinely beautiful East Sussex landscape. There’s free private parking right on site, which is actually a bigger deal than you might think when you’re exploring this part of the coast where parking can be a nightmare.
The Accommodation
My room had this lovely mix of traditional charm and modern comfort that you don’t always find in countryside properties. The windows looked out over the gardens, and I mean, waking up to that view with a cup of tea β it’s exactly what you want from a getaway like this. The beds are properly comfortable (none of that rock-hard nonsense you sometimes get), and the bathrooms are well-appointed without being overly fancy. You know what really impressed me? The attention to small details, like decent lighting for reading and enough surface space to actually unpack your things.
Dining & Atmosphere
The restaurant here focuses on local ingredients, which sounds like marketing speak but actually translates to really good food. I had dinner there twice during my stay, and both meals felt thoughtful rather than just filling a hungry stomach. The dining room has this relaxed, unhurried atmosphere that encourages you to linger over your meal β perfect for couples, which explains why this place gets such high marks for romantic getaways. The staff seem to understand that people come here to slow down, not rush through service.
Why Guests Love It
With a 9.2 rating, Beautiful Lodge Hastings clearly knows what it’s doing. Couples particularly rave about the place, and after spending time here, I get it β there’s something about the combination of peaceful surroundings, genuine hospitality, and that sense of being away from everything without sacrificing comfort. The location gives you options: countryside walks right from your doorstep, easy access to Hastings’ attractions, and the feeling that you’re staying somewhere that locals would actually recommend to their friends. It’s the kind of place where you find yourself planning your return visit before you’ve even checked out.

The whole place was clean and neat. They aren't lying about the stairs but getting to the top and into the caravan is worth it. Found everything we would need for the stay including hairy dryer and different types of tea. Location is amazing as you are near the old town and the battle ground. Also the location of the caravan is prefect too as it...
