Angie stunning holiday home

HOTEL OVERVIEW
Look, I’ll be straight with you about Angie’s place on Moneyclose Lane – this isn’t your typical hotel experience, and honestly, that might be exactly what you’re looking for or absolutely not what you need, depending on where you’re at in life. It’s one of those quirky boutique spots that doesn’t fit into the usual star rating system, which should probably tell you something right off the bat.
The location in Heysham is actually pretty interesting if you know what you’re getting into. You’re basically staying in a proper residential area, not some tourist strip, which means you’ll get a real feel for how locals live around here. Moneyclose Lane itself is quiet – I mean really quiet, especially in the evenings when the only sounds you’ll hear are maybe a dog barking somewhere or the occasional car heading home. The thing is, while it feels removed from everything, you’re actually not that far from Heysham village center, and if you’re willing to take a short walk, there’s some decent pubs and that lovely old church ruin that most people drive right past without noticing.
Now, here’s where I need to be honest – this place has gotten some pretty rough reviews, and after staying there, I can see why some people might struggle with it. The whole setup feels very much like you’re staying in someone’s actual home rather than a professional accommodation, which can be charming if you’re in the right mindset but frustrating if you’re expecting hotel-level service and amenities. The decor is… well, let’s call it eclectic. Think lots of personal touches and family photos mixed with what appears to be furniture collected over many years. Some travelers love this authentic, lived-in feel, while others find it a bit overwhelming or dated. The bathroom situation varies depending on which room you get, and I’d definitely recommend asking specific questions about what’s included before you book. Parking isn’t really an issue since you’re in a residential area, but the check-in process can be a bit informal – don’t expect a front desk situation here.
What strikes me most about this place is that it really depends on what you’re looking for and how flexible you are as a traveler. If you want a sanitized, predictable hotel experience, honestly, look elsewhere – there are plenty of chain hotels closer to Lancaster or even some decent B&Bs in the area that might suit you better. But if you’re the type of person who enjoys staying somewhere with character, even if that character comes with a few rough edges, then Angie’s might surprise you. The low rating suggests other guests have had issues, so I’d really recommend reading recent reviews carefully and maybe even reaching out directly with any specific needs or concerns before booking. Heysham itself is worth exploring – the old village has some lovely stone cottages and there’s decent walking along the coast if you don’t mind a bit of wind.
