Look, I’ve stayed at plenty of coastal places in Chile, but this little gem in Pelluhue actually surprised me. The name says “cozy house on the coast” and honestly – that’s exactly what you get, just way better than you’d expect from the simple description. It sits right on Ruta M-50, which I know sounds like you’ll be dealing with highway noise, but here’s the thing: once you’re facing the ocean, all you hear are waves. The location is actually perfect because you’re close enough to Chanco (maybe 15 minutes) for supplies, but far enough out that you feel like you’ve escaped.

What really got me was how thoughtfully this place is set up. I mean, it’s not trying to be some fancy resort – there’s no official star rating, and thank god for that because it means they focused on the stuff that actually matters. The owners clearly know what travelers want: proper wifi that actually works (I was able to video call home without issues), a kitchen that’s genuinely usable if you want to cook some of that amazing seafood from the local markets, and – this is key – really good beds. You know how some boutique places sacrifice comfort for style? Not here. I slept like a rock every night, which is saying something because I’m usually a light sleeper.

The beach access is what really sets this apart though. You’re not fighting crowds or walking through resort lobbies – you literally step out and you’re on this gorgeous stretch of coastline that feels almost private. I visited in March, which locals told me is actually ideal because the summer crowds have thinned out but the weather’s still perfect for long beach walks. The sunsets from the property are honestly ridiculous – I took about fifty photos and none of them did it justice. There’s also this great little outdoor space where you can sit with a pisco sour (the owners gave me tips on the best place in Chanco to buy ingredients) and just watch the waves. One small thing – parking is easy and secure, which might not sound exciting but you’ll appreciate it after driving those winding coastal roads. The 9.2 rating makes total sense once you’re there; it’s the kind of place where every detail feels considered without being fussy about it.
