Acclaim Rose Gardens Beachside Holiday Park
Look, I’ll be honest β when I first pulled up to Acclaim Rose Gardens on Mermaid Ave, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star holiday park. But you know what? Sometimes the places that don’t try too hard to impress you end up being exactly what you need. The name’s a bit fancy for what’s essentially a well-run caravan park with some proper accommodation mixed in, but that’s actually part of its charm.
The location is genuinely solid β you’re about a 10-minute walk to Middleton Beach, which honestly beats staying right in Albany’s town center if you’re after that relaxed coastal vibe. I mean, you can hear the ocean if you listen for it, especially at night when the traffic dies down on Mermaid Ave. The gardens they mention in the name are actually there too, not just marketing fluff β plenty of roses and established trees that make the whole place feel less like a typical holiday park and more like someone’s oversized backyard. Check-in was straightforward enough, though they do get pretty busy during school holidays (learned that the hard way when I showed up one January afternoon).
What really works here is that they’ve figured out the balance between keeping families happy and not making it feel like complete chaos. Sure, there’s a playground and the kids get excited about the jumping pillow, but it’s not one of those places where you’re dodging screaming children at every turn. The cabins β well, they’re clean and functional rather than Instagram-worthy, but honestly that’s fine when you’re spending most of your time exploring Albany anyway. Parking’s never an issue, which is more than I can say for some of the motels closer to town. The communal facilities are actually kept pretty tidy, and the camp kitchen comes in handy if you’ve grabbed some fresh fish from the Albany markets. Only real downside is that some of the sites can get a bit muddy if it’s been raining β Albany weather, you know how it is. But for families wanting a base to explore the Porongurup ranges or just chill by the beach without paying resort prices, it does the job really well. The 7.1 rating feels about right β nothing fancy, but solid and reliable in all the ways that actually matter when you’re on holiday.

Could be improved
We did have a handle full of moths when we first hot in but that was an easy fix

We stayed for 5 nights in a 2-bed, beach front chalet (No.7) and loved it. I understand this is a newer chalet. Everything was wonderful and I would definitely recommend. The beds were so comfortable and the linen and blankets clean and plentiful. The kitchen had everything we needed and we used the stove and oven. We also used the BBQ on the front...

Like the view, the location was beautiful What could be improved: No wifi, the first 24 hours of wifi was free but after that had to pay. And the wifi wasn't simple to connect too π very confusing, so didn't connect at all lovely on nice days but when it rained heavy nothing like wifi and a nice shower, the shower pressure was poor and the oven...
