Crestview Tourist Park
You know what struck me first about Crestview Tourist Park? It’s actually not trying to be something it isn’t. I mean, you pull up to this place on Donald Road and it’s just… honest. Three stars, sits at a solid 7.6 rating, and honestly that feels about right. It’s the kind of spot where families pull in with their caravans after a long drive, kids already asking if there’s a playground (there is, by the way).
The thing about staying here is you’re really getting the authentic Queanbeyan experience – which is either exactly what you want or something you didn’t know you needed. Donald Road itself is pretty quiet, especially in the evenings when you can actually hear the birds settling in. I was surprised by how peaceful it gets after the initial afternoon bustle of people checking in and kids running around. The cabins are clean, nothing fancy but they’ve got that lived-in comfort that makes you feel like you’re staying at your practical aunt’s place. Actually, the shower pressure was better than I expected – sometimes these tourist parks can be hit or miss with that sort of thing.
What I really appreciated was being just close enough to Canberra that you can duck over for a day trip (it’s literally right there across the border), but far enough that you’re not dealing with capital city prices for everything. The staff seem to actually know the area too – when I asked about getting groceries, they didn’t just point me toward the nearest Woolies but mentioned the little IGA that’s got better produce and is way less crowded. There’s something refreshing about places where people have been working long enough to give you real recommendations instead of just reciting what’s on the brochure. The park does get a bit lively on weekends with families, which is either charming or slightly chaotic depending on your mood, but by Sunday evening it settles back into that sleepy country town vibe. If you’re someone who needs resort-style amenities, this probably isn’t your spot, but if you want a clean, affordable base for exploring the region without any pretense – well, that’s exactly what Crestview delivers.

It was safe, clean, well maintained, easy non contact check in. I contacted the staff prior to arrival and they were super helpful. It had a great BBQ area, kids playground and pool. The cabin was great with everything we needed. Perfect for a night stop over or a base if you are visiting Canberra and don't want to pay Canberra prices.
