β€” The village

6 Berth on Seaview (Fanfare)

You know, I’ve driven past Point Road in Ingoldmells countless times over the years, but I’d never actually stayed at the 6 Berth on Seaview until this past summer – and honestly, I’m kicking myself for waiting so long. The name’s a bit of a mouthful (locals just call it “the Fanfare place”), but once you’re there, you get it. This isn’t your typical seaside B&B with the flowery wallpaper and questionable carpet choices. It’s actually got this really cool boutique vibe going on – no official star rating because, well, it sort of defies the usual categories.

The moment you walk in, there’s this immediate sense that someone who actually cares about hospitality runs this place. The six-berth setup works brilliantly if you’re traveling with family or a group of friends – I mean, you’ve got proper space to spread out without feeling like you’re camping in someone’s spare room. What really got me was the attention to detail… little things like decent coffee (not the instant stuff you usually get), proper shower pressure, and – this sounds silly but it matters – hooks in the bathroom where you actually need them. The seaview isn’t just marketing speak either; you can genuinely see the water from the main windows, and if you’re lucky enough to be there during one of those dramatic Lincolnshire sunsets, you’ll understand why people keep coming back year after year.

Ingoldmells gets a bit of a reputation for being touristy (which, let’s be honest, it is), but staying right on Point Road puts you in this sweet spot where you’re close enough to walk to Fantasy Island or the beach in about ten minutes, but far enough from the main drag that you’re not dealing with the candy floss crowds when you want to just chill out. The owners – and I suspect they live locally because they know everything about the area – gave us these great tips about the best fish and chips (not the obvious tourist trap ones) and when to hit the beach to avoid the busiest times. Parking’s actually sorted, which is a massive relief if you’ve ever tried to find a spot during peak season around here. I’d go back in a heartbeat, probably sometime in late September when the weather’s still decent but the summer chaos has died down a bit.

The best resort villages feature carefully designed properties that harmonize with their natural surroundings, offering guests authentic experiences combined with luxury amenities and exceptional hospitality.
