Villaggio Orizzonte

Villaggio Orizzonte Overview
You know what, I honestly wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Villaggio Orizzonte, but this 4-star gem really surprised me. The entrance has this laid-back Mediterranean vibe that immediately puts you at ease – you can actually smell the sea breeze mixed with that distinctive scent of pine trees that seems to follow you everywhere around here. The staff at check-in were genuinely friendly (not that rehearsed hotel politeness), and I mean, they actually remembered my name by the second day, which was a nice touch.
The room I stayed in had this beautiful terracotta tile flooring that stays cool even during those scorching afternoon hours, and honestly, the balcony view was worth the price alone. You’re looking out over olive groves that stretch toward the coastline, and if you’re lucky enough to snag one of the upper floors, you can catch glimpses of the harbor where the fishing boats come in around 6 AM (fair warning – they’re not exactly quiet, but it’s kind of charming in an authentic way). The kitchenette was surprisingly well-equipped – I actually cooked a few meals there using ingredients from the local market just down Via Roma, which is maybe a 10-minute walk through the old town. Speaking of practicalities, parking can be a bit tricky during peak season since the lot fills up pretty quickly, but there’s usually street parking available along the main road if you don’t mind a short walk.
What really sets this place apart though is the hotel restaurant – they serve this incredible seafood risotto that I’m still thinking about weeks later, and the wine selection features some really fantastic local vintages that you won’t find in the tourist spots. The spa area is compact but well-maintained, with a sauna that’s perfect after spending the day exploring the nearby coastal trails. I’ll be honest, the WiFi can be spotty in some areas (especially near the pool), and the air conditioning in the older apartments takes a while to kick in, but these are minor issues when you consider the overall experience. The place tends to quiet down beautifully in the evenings – you’ll hear church bells from San Marco around sunset, and there’s something really peaceful about sitting on your balcony with a glass of local wine, watching the lights flicker on across the valley. If you’re planning to visit, I’d definitely recommend booking well in advance during summer months, and honestly, try to get one of the corner rooms if possible – the extra window makes all the difference.

La spiaggia è raggiungibile con una bella breve passeggiata ma la struttura mette a disposizione una comoda navetta. Il bar aperto fino a notte è sicuramente un plus. La domenica è possibile partecipare alla S. Messa all'interno della struttura.
