The Rivington Lodge

HOTEL OVERVIEW
You know what’s funny about The Rivington Lodge? I almost drove right past it the first time – tucked away on Money Close Lane like someone’s well-kept secret. It’s one of those places that doesn’t scream “boutique hotel” from the street, which honestly makes stumbling upon it feel even better. The whole area around Heysham is pretty quiet anyway, but this little pocket feels particularly tucked away from everything, though you’re actually just minutes from the village center.
The thing that strikes you immediately is how un-hotel-like it feels inside. I mean, they’ve clearly put thought into every corner, but it’s got this lived-in charm that makes you feel like you’re staying at a friend’s place – if your friend happened to have impeccable taste and way more money than you. The rooms have this mix of modern comfort and old-world character that works surprisingly well together. Mine had these gorgeous exposed beams overhead, and the bathroom was one of those spaces where you end up taking longer showers just because it feels so good to be in there. The bed was proper comfortable too – not too soft, not too firm, just right for collapsing after a day wandering around Morecambe Bay.
What really gets me about this place is the attention to detail without being fussy about it. The staff actually seem to enjoy being there, which you notice right away during check-in. They’ll chat about local walks or where to grab decent fish and chips (there’s a spot in Heysham village that’s absolutely worth the five-minute drive). Parking’s straightforward – no wrestling with tiny spaces or paying extra fees, which is honestly refreshing. The whole place stays pretty quiet even when it’s full, probably because the type of people who find their way here aren’t the party-until-3am crowd. I slept brilliantly both nights, just the occasional sound of wind through the trees outside.
The breakfast situation deserves a mention too – proper local ingredients, nothing fancy but done really well. You can tell they source things carefully rather than just opening whatever wholesale supplier delivers. It’s the kind of place where you end up lingering over coffee longer than planned, especially if you snag one of the tables by the windows. The whole experience feels deliberately unhurried, which is exactly what you want when you’re trying to decompress from city life or just explore this gorgeous stretch of Lancashire coast at your own pace.

Louise from United Kingdom
The location is good, in terms of amenities, off camp. i .e . There is a pub at the top of the lane that is both dog friendly and reasonable priced. The staff are very friendly ( The Duke of Rothesay). Right near half moon cafe where parking is very reasonable. If the weather is on your side, the beaches offer fabulous walks ... There are...

Very clean and tidy and nicely presented, but it was very expensive for a caravan.

The location of the caravan was good, the beds were comfy, and it was clean. The park itself is lovely with direct access to the beach.
