You’ve got Shellharbour Marina just up the road – great for fish and chips or if you want to book a fishing charter – and you can easily drive to places like Kiama or even do day trips to the Royal National Park. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night. Sure, you’ll hear the occasional car on Junction Road, but it’s nothing compared to the highway noise you get at some parks. The only real downside? Well, it gets pretty busy during school holidays and long weekends, so book ahead if you’re planning to visit then. And if you’re one of those people who needs resort-style amenities, this probably isn’t your scene – it’s more about simple, honest accommodation that lets you enjoy the natural beauty of the area without fuss.
