When I first pulled up to Sunscape Lodge on Coast Road, I honestly wasn’t expecting much — the exterior looks pretty understated from the street. But you know what? Sometimes the best places are the ones that don’t need to shout about themselves. This four-star property sits quietly in Corton, and there’s something immediately calming about the whole setup. The staff greeted me with genuine warmth, not that overly rehearsed hotel politeness, and I could tell right away this was going to be one of those stays where you actually unwind.

Corton isn’t exactly a household name, but that’s actually part of its charm. You’re close enough to Lowestoft for proper amenities — maybe a ten-minute drive — but far enough away that you get this lovely sense of being somewhere quieter and more residential. The Coast Road location means you’re literally minutes from some beautiful stretches of Norfolk coastline. I mean, you can walk to the beach easily, and there’s something special about having that kind of access without the crowds you’d get at the more famous seaside spots. It’s no wonder couples rate this place so highly for romantic getaways.

The Room Experience

My room was comfortable in that unpretentious way that actually lets you relax. The décor isn’t trying to win any design awards, but everything felt clean and well-maintained. What I really appreciated was the attention to practical details — good lighting for reading, decent storage space, and a bathroom that actually had proper water pressure. The beds are genuinely comfortable too, which you don’t always get even at four-star places.
