Look, I’ve stayed at a lot of all-inclusive places along Turkey’s Mediterranean coast, and honestly? Side Star Beach Hotel gets it right in ways that surprised me. First thing you notice pulling up to the place on Turgut Özal Caddesi – which locals just call “the main road” – is how they’ve managed to keep that beachfront elegance without feeling like a concrete fortress. The lobby actually smells like jasmine instead of chlorine and cleaning products, which is… refreshing, I guess you’d say.
What really won me over though was the genuine ultra all-inclusive setup. I mean, you hear that phrase thrown around everywhere, but here it actually means something. The bars don’t switch to watered-down everything after 6 PM, the à la carte restaurants don’t require booking three days in advance, and – this is key – the beach service doesn’t mysteriously disappear when you need it most. The staff remembers your name by day two, which sounds small but makes all the difference when you’re trying to relax. Speaking of the beach, it’s that perfect Side coastline where the sand isn’t quite powder but isn’t rocky either, and the water stays shallow enough that you can wade out pretty far. You’ll want to grab a spot on the left side of the beach area in the morning – better shade options and less foot traffic from the pool crowd.
The location really works in your favor here because you’re close enough to Side’s old town (maybe a 10-minute walk along the water) to hit up the ancient amphitheater or those narrow streets with actual Turkish restaurants, but far enough from the main tourist chaos that you can sleep with your balcony door open. The food situation is solid – not blow-your-mind amazing, but consistently good with enough variety that you won’t get bored over a week. Their Turkish breakfast spread is legitimately excellent, and the evening grills by the pool have this herb blend that I’m still trying to figure out. Only real complaint? The WiFi gets spotty during peak hours when everyone’s uploading vacation photos, but honestly, that might be a blessing in disguise. With an 8.9 rating, this place has earned its reputation – it’s one of those hotels that delivers exactly what it promises without the usual fine print disappointments.
