Tucked away in Shorefield Country Park, it’s actually more like staying in someone’s incredibly well-appointed home than a traditional hotel, which I mean in the best possible way. The whole boutique vibe works because they’ve clearly put thought into every detail without being precious about it.

The location is honestly brilliant if you know the area. You’re literally a few minutes’ walk from Milford on Sea’s shingle beach – and I’m talking about the good stretch where locals go, not the touristy bits. Shorefield Road itself is quiet enough that you won’t hear traffic at night, but you’re still close enough to pop into the village for proper fish and chips or one of those seaside pubs that actually serve decent food. The country park setting means you’ve got proper walking routes right from your doorstep, which is perfect if you’re one of those people (like me) who can’t sit still on holiday. I spent half my mornings just wandering the paths with my coffee – there’s something about that Hampshire countryside that just works, especially when you can smell the sea air mixing with all those pine trees.

What really sets Seabreeze apart though is how they’ve managed to feel both relaxed and polished at the same time. The rooms have that boutique hotel attention to detail – proper toiletries, comfortable beds that don’t feel like they came from a catalog, windows that actually open properly – but without any of that sterile design hotel nonsense. Staff genuinely seem to know the area well, which matters more than you’d think when you’re trying to figure out tide times or whether it’s worth driving to Lymington versus walking along the coast path. Parking’s sorted without any drama, check-in was refreshingly straightforward, and honestly, the whole place just feels like somewhere you’d want to come back to rather than just tick off a list. The 8.7 rating makes perfect sense when you stay there – it’s the kind of place that does the basics exceptionally well and then surprises you with thoughtful touches you didn’t expect. Perfect for couples wanting something a bit special without the fuss, or really anyone who appreciates staying somewhere that feels authentic rather than manufactured.
