Royal Holiday Palace

Lara Turizm Merkezi Antalya, 07110 Lara, Turkey
HOTEL OVERVIEW
So I’ve stayed at the Royal Holiday Palace in Lara a few times now, and honestly, it’s one of those places that gets better each visit once you figure out how it works. The hotel sits right in the heart of Lara’s hotel zone – you know that stretch where all the big resorts line up along the beach – but what I actually love about this spot is that you’re close enough to walk to the main Lara strip for shopping and restaurants, yet far enough back that you don’t get the constant buzz of traffic from the coastal road.
The thing about this place is it really does feel royal in that slightly over-the-top Turkish resort way, and I mean that as a compliment. The lobby’s got this grand marble thing going on with chandeliers that probably cost more than my car, but somehow it doesn’t feel stuffy. Check-in’s usually pretty smooth, though if you arrive during peak season (July-August gets crazy busy), expect a bit of a wait around 3 PM when everyone’s trying to get their rooms. The staff here actually remembers you after a day or two, which is rare for a place this size. They’ll start greeting you by name in the hallways, and the bartenders remember your drink – those little touches that make you feel less like tourist number 4,847.
What really sets this place apart from the other Lara hotels is the attention to detail in the rooms and common areas. I mean, sure, it’s got all the standard 5-star stuff, but they actually maintain it well. The marble floors stay polished, the pools are pristine (they clean them every morning around 6 AM if you’re an early riser like me), and the gardens are genuinely beautiful – not just thrown together for photos. The beach access is solid too, though you’ll want to claim your spot early during peak season because everyone from the neighboring hotels kind of mingles on this stretch of sand. One thing I always tell people: the rooms facing the garden are actually quieter than the sea view ones, especially if you’re here when the nearby hotels have their evening entertainment programs going full blast.
The food situation is where this place really shines – and I’m usually pretty picky about hotel buffets. Their Turkish breakfast spread is incredible (get there early for the freshest börek), and they do themed nights that actually taste like the cuisine they’re supposed to represent, not some watered-down resort version. The à la carte restaurants require reservations, but it’s worth booking the Ottoman one for at least one dinner. Pro tip: if you’re driving, parking can be tight during high season, but there’s overflow parking about a 3-minute walk away that most guests don’t know about. Overall, for the price point in Lara, you’re getting solid value – it’s not trying to be the flashiest place on the strip, but it delivers consistently on comfort and service, which honestly matters more when you’re trying to actually relax.
