HOTEL OVERVIEW
You know, I’ve stayed at a lot of hotels along the Turkish coast, but Rixos Premium Göcek honestly caught me off guard – and I mean that in the best way. This isn’t your typical Mediterranean resort where you’re crammed in with families and screaming kids by the pool. The adult-only policy here actually works, creating this surprisingly sophisticated vibe that feels more like an upscale retreat than a vacation factory.
The location in Bungus Koyu is what really sets it apart, though. Most people think of Göcek as just a sailing hub (which it definitely is), but this little bay feels almost secret – tucked away from the main harbor buzz yet close enough that you can easily walk into town for dinner at places like Can Restaurant or to browse the marina. I mean, you’re literally a five-minute stroll from where all those gorgeous gulets dock, so you get the best of both worlds: the tranquility of being slightly removed but easy access to Göcek’s surprisingly good dining scene. The hotel’s position also means you’re facing southwest, so those sunset views over the bay are absolutely ridiculous – especially from their infinity pool area.
What struck me most was how they’ve managed to feel genuinely luxurious without being stuffy. The service has that Turkish warmth to it, but refined – staff remember your name and your coffee order without making a big show of it. The rooms (well, mine was actually more like a suite) have this clean, modern aesthetic that doesn’t try too hard, and honestly, the bathroom alone is worth the splurge. The food situation is solid too – their breakfast spread rivals anything I’ve had in Istanbul, and the dinner options don’t fall into that trap of trying to please everyone and ending up bland. You’ll want to venture out some evenings though, because Göcek has some gems like Caretta Restaurant that you shouldn’t miss, and the hotel’s location makes that totally doable. One small thing – parking can get tight during peak season (July-August especially), so if you’re driving from Dalaman airport, arrive earlier in the day. But honestly, with a 9.3 rating, they’re clearly doing something right, and after spending time there, I get it. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to plan your next trip back before you’ve even checked out.
