Reflections Mylestom – Holiday Park
You know what surprised me about Reflections Mylestom? It’s one of those places that doesn’t try too hard to impress you with fancy lobbies or over-the-top amenities, but somehow ends up being exactly what you didn’t know you needed. Right there on Beach Parade – and I mean literally right there, not some marketing “short stroll to the beach” nonsense – this holiday park sits perfectly positioned where the Bellinger River meets the ocean. The first thing that hits you when you arrive is how quiet it actually is, especially if you’re used to the chaos of bigger coastal towns. Mylestom’s got this sleepy village vibe that honestly feels like stepping back a decade or two, in the best possible way.
The accommodation itself is pretty straightforward – we’re talking 3-star territory here, so don’t expect marble countertops or room service. But here’s the thing: the cabins are clean, comfortable, and most importantly, they’ve got that lived-in feel that makes you want to kick off your shoes and actually relax. The park’s got a mix of permanent residents and holiday makers, which I actually loved because it means the facilities are well-maintained year-round, not just spruced up for tourist season. The permanent folks are friendly too – they’re the ones who’ll tell you the best fishing spots or when the dolphins usually show up (early morning, apparently). What really sold me was stepping out of our cabin at sunrise and hearing nothing but waves and the occasional kookaburra. I mean, when’s the last time you woke up somewhere without traffic noise?
The beach access is honestly the star here – you’re talking maybe a two-minute walk through some scrubby dunes and you’re on this gorgeous stretch of sand that feels completely untouched. It’s not patrolled, so you need to be sensible about swimming, but the river mouth creates this amazing lagoon area that’s perfect for kids or anyone who’s not keen on battling proper surf. We spent hours just watching the water change color as the tide shifted. Parking’s easy, check-in was refreshingly drama-free, and while the park’s facilities aren’t fancy, they’re functional and clean. The only thing I’d mention is that if you’re looking for nightlife or fancy dining, you’ll need to drive the 15 minutes to Urunga or further to Coffs Harbour. But honestly, after a day of doing absolutely nothing productive except maybe throwing a line in the water or walking the beach, we were perfectly happy grabbing fish and chips from the local shop and eating them while watching the sunset. Sometimes the best holidays are the ones where you remember how to slow down – and Reflections Mylestom definitely delivers on that front.
Each resort village provides a unique blend of privacy and community, where guests enjoy villa-style accommodations while having access to shared amenities and social experiences.

Stayed in one of the relatively new "tiny homes". Very clean and although a confines space, the covered verandah made it comfortable. These tiny homes are best suited for someone who is used to living in a caravan. What could be improved: The internet and cellphone reception are terrible. If you have a medical device that is monitored 24/7 via an...

A lovely quiet park with very easy access to the beach. Cabin was very new., clean and well equipped. The camp kitchen was really comfortable which was important to us as it rained the whole time we were there. What could be improved: The tv was placed in an awkward position and it was easy to bang your head. Internet connection was really poor...
