Reflections Forster Beach – Holiday Park
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Reflections Forster Beach, I wasn’t expecting much from a holiday park. But you know what? This place actually surprised me in the best way possible. It’s tucked away on Reserve Road, which means you’re literally a stone’s throw from the beach without dealing with all the main street chaos that happens closer to town. The whole setup feels more like a proper resort that just happens to call itself a holiday park.
What really got me was how they’ve managed to balance that relaxed coastal vibe with actually decent facilities. I mean, the cabins are clean and comfortable – nothing fancy, but honestly, when you’re spending most of your time on one of the best beaches on the Mid North Coast, who cares if your accommodation doesn’t have marble countertops? The staff at check-in were genuinely helpful (not just going through the motions), and they knew their stuff about the local area. They pointed me toward the dolphin watching spots that the tour groups don’t hit, which was gold. The grounds are well-maintained too, and I appreciated that it never felt overcrowded, even during school holidays when half of Sydney seems to descend on Forster.
Here’s the thing about the location that makes it work so well – you’re close enough to walk into town for dinner at the RSL or grab fish and chips from that little place everyone raves about, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with weekend party noise. The beach access is what really sells it though. Forget fighting for parking at the main beach; you can practically roll out of bed and onto the sand here. I spent mornings walking along the shore before the crowds arrived, and honestly, those quiet moments with just the waves and maybe a few early joggers made the whole trip worthwhile. The swimming is excellent too – protected waters, perfect for families or if you’re like me and prefer not to get tumbled by massive surf. Sure, it’s a 3-star place, but sometimes that’s exactly what you want. No pretentious nonsense, just a solid base for exploring everything Forster has to offer, from the lighthouse walk to those amazing oysters you can get fresh from the inlet.

Originally there was an issue with the first property however the staff were incredibly accommodating and gave us a great upgrade, which made our stay. I would recommend spending a bit more to stay in the better cabins.

The security coded fences. Location. Being kept informed when water and also power was turned off for unexpected repairs.

Dripping taps in the kitchen and bathroom. Very hard to turn off, so they didn't drip.
