Reflections Evans Head – Holiday Park
You know what? I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Reflections Evans Head on Park Street – I mean, it’s a holiday park, so I figured it’d be pretty basic. But honestly, this place surprised me in the best way possible. The whole setup feels way more polished than your typical caravan park, and at 3 stars with an 8.4 rating, it’s clearly doing something right. The moment you walk around, you can tell they’ve actually put thought into making it feel welcoming rather than just functional.
What really got me was how well they’ve balanced that holiday park vibe with actual comfort. The cabins are surprisingly well-maintained – none of that musty smell you sometimes get in these places, and the beds are actually decent (trust me, I’m picky about mattresses). The whole property has this relaxed, almost beachy atmosphere that fits perfectly with Evans Head’s laid-back coastal character. You’re literally a stone’s throw from some of the most underrated beaches on the NSW coast, which locals will tell you stay pretty quiet even during school holidays when everywhere else is packed. The sound of the ocean is just constant background noise here, which I found weirdly soothing after a few days.
But here’s the thing that really makes this place work – it’s the location without being right in the thick of everything. Park Street puts you close enough to walk to the main beach and the little cluster of cafes and shops near the breakwall, but you’re not dealing with traffic noise or crowds right outside your door. The staff seem to genuinely know the area too, not just the touristy stuff but actual local spots worth checking out. I mean, they pointed me toward this little walking track along the river that I never would’ve found otherwise. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no lengthy sales pitches about timeshares or extra fees popping up everywhere. And parking? Not even a concern, which is more than I can say for a lot of coastal accommodation these days. It’s not luxury by any stretch, but it’s honest, well-run, and perfectly suited to what Evans Head is all about – just relaxing by the water without all the fuss.

It was all fab. The bench seats on the deck got wet in the rain, some plastic covering would be helpful for this days when you have stay indoors. 😊

My cabin was small but comfortable, the bed particularly so. I appreciated the two ceiling fans which reduced the need for air conditioning. The park is in a great location: The main beach, the scenic Evans River and the small commercial centre of the town are within easy walking distance; it's a short drive to Broadwater National Park to the north...

Cabin for 6 was very comfortable for two - would have been very squishy for 6. Everything else was fine as there were only two of us.
