When I first pulled into Pentire Coastal Holiday Park, honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect from a holiday park — but this place completely changed my perspective. Set on the rugged coastline near Bude, this four-star property feels more like a well-designed coastal retreat than your typical holiday park. The moment you arrive, you’re struck by how thoughtfully everything’s been laid out, with the Atlantic Ocean stretching endlessly in the distance and that distinctive Cornish coastline right at your doorstep.

Location & Coastal Access

You know what really sets this place apart? The location is absolutely spectacular — and I mean that in the most genuine way possible. Perched on the cliffs above some of Cornwall’s most dramatic coastline, you’re literally steps away from coastal walks that’ll take your breath away. The South West Coast Path runs right past the park, so you can wake up and be hiking along those famous Cornish cliffs within minutes. Parking is completely free and right on-site, which honestly makes such a difference when you’re exploring this part of Cornwall — no hunting for spaces in Bude town center or feeding meters all day.

The Accommodation

I stayed in one of their static caravans (though they call them holiday homes, and rightly so), and I was genuinely impressed by the quality. Each unit comes with a proper kitchen that’s actually functional — not just a token gesture — plus comfortable seating areas and bedrooms that don’t feel cramped. The windows frame those coastal views perfectly, and you’ll find yourself just sitting there with your morning coffee, watching the waves crash below. What struck me most was how clean and well-maintained everything felt, which isn’t always a given with holiday parks.

Activities & Amenities

The park itself has this relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere without being chaotic. There’s an indoor swimming pool that’s perfect for those inevitable rainy Cornish days, and the kids’ play areas are well-designed and safe. But honestly, the real draw here is the natural playground right outside your door. The coastal walks are incredible — you can head north toward Hartland Point or south into Bude proper, and either direction offers some of the most stunning scenery in North Cornwall. The park also has a small shop and restaurant on-site, which comes in handy when you don’t feel like driving into town.
