First Impressions
When I first pulled into PB6 at Pilbach Holiday Park, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect — the name doesn’t give much away, does it? But this four-star property in Bettws-Evan turned out to be one of those pleasant surprises that makes you want to keep the location secret. The setting is properly Welsh countryside, with rolling hills stretching in every direction and that particular kind of quiet you only get when you’re genuinely away from everything. There’s free parking right on site, which might sound basic but trust me, after navigating those narrow Welsh lanes, you’ll appreciate having a guaranteed spot.
The Accommodation
My room was spacious and thoughtfully designed — not trying too hard to be trendy, just comfortable in that understated way that actually works. The windows frame the surrounding countryside perfectly, and I found myself just standing there with my morning coffee, watching the mist roll across the fields. You know what impressed me most? The attention to practical details. The heating works properly (crucial in Wales), there’s plenty of storage space, and the bed is genuinely comfortable — not just hotel-marketing comfortable.
Location & Surroundings
Bettws-Evan isn’t exactly a household name, but that’s precisely the point. You’re in proper Carmarthenshire countryside here, where sheep outnumber people and the night sky actually shows stars. The recent guests have rated the location 8.9 out of 10, and I can see why — it’s that sweet spot where you feel completely removed from daily life but aren’t actually stranded. The nearest village has a decent pub (always important), and you’re within striking distance of both the Pembrokeshire coast and the Brecon Beacons if you fancy a day trip.
The Holiday Park Experience
Pilbach Holiday Park itself has this relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere that I really appreciated. It’s not one of those places where everything’s regimented or overly organized — more like a collection of quality accommodations scattered across beautiful grounds. There’s a restaurant on site that serves proper food without any fuss, and the staff seem to understand that sometimes people just want to be left alone to enjoy the peace. I mean, couples particularly love this place according to the feedback, and I can absolutely understand why — there’s something romantic about the isolation without it feeling remote.
Why Guests Love It
What strikes me about PB6 is how it gets the fundamentals right without making a big song and dance about it. The 9.4 rating speaks for itself, really — this is a place that delivers on its promises. You come here for the countryside, the quiet, and the chance to properly unwind, and that’s exactly what you get. It’s not trying to be a flashy resort or a boutique experience — it’s just a really well-run place in a beautiful part of Wales where you can actually relax. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need, especially when the alternative is another generic hotel in a busy town center.

The caravan was quaint, clean and tidy great location on the site. The owners were very accommodating and left cookies and milk. We were given a late check out at no extra cost. Communication was excellent.
