The river’s close enough that you’ll hear it on quiet evenings, which is either perfect white noise or slightly annoying depending on how light a sleeper you are. What I really appreciated was how the staff knew the area inside and out – they pointed me toward this amazing little swimming spot that wasn’t on any tourist maps. The accommodations themselves are apartment-style with kitchenettes, which is brilliant if you want to grab provisions from the market in Ganges (about 15 minutes away) and not eat out every meal. Fair warning though – the kitchens are pretty basic, so don’t expect to whip up anything too elaborate.

The whole setup works really well for families or couples who want space to breathe. Each unit has its own terrace, and honestly, sitting out there in the evenings with a glass of local wine while the light fades over the hills… it’s the kind of moment that makes you remember why you travel. The pool area gets busy during French school holidays – I was there in July and had to stake out chairs early – but outside those periods it’s pretty peaceful. Check-in was smooth, parking’s included (which isn’t always a given in France), and the Wi-Fi actually worked throughout the property, though you might not want to use it much anyway. The 8.7 rating makes total sense to me – it’s not luxury, but it delivers exactly what it promises without any unpleasant surprises. If you’re looking for nightlife or fancy restaurants within walking distance, this isn’t your place. But if you want to wake up to birdsong and spend your days exploring some of the most beautiful countryside in southern France, then come back to a comfortable base with everything you need… well, that’s exactly what you’ll get here.
