Paloma Perissia
Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first pulled up to Paloma Perissia — you know how these big resort hotels can be hit or miss, especially along the Turkish coast. But this place actually surprised me in the best way. It sits right on the Kumkoy stretch between Side and Manavgat, which means you get that perfect balance of being close enough to the ancient ruins (seriously, Side’s Roman theater is maybe a 10-minute drive) but far enough from the main tourist chaos to actually relax.
The thing that struck me first was how they’ve managed to feel upscale without being stuffy about it. I mean, yes, it’s got all the five-star touches you’d expect, but the staff genuinely seems to care rather than just going through the motions. Check-in was smooth — no endless waiting around in marble lobbies like some places. The rooms face either the Mediterranean or these surprisingly lush gardens, and if you can swing it, go for the sea view. Trust me on this one. There’s something about watching the fishing boats head out at dawn that just hits different when you’re actually on vacation. The pools are well-maintained without being overcrowded, though I’d avoid the main one around 2 PM when families with kids tend to take over (not a bad thing, just depends what you’re after). What I really appreciated was the beach access — it’s not one of those rocky, impossible-to-navigate situations. The sand is decent, and the water stays pretty calm thanks to the way this part of the coast curves.
Food-wise, they’ve got options that go beyond the typical resort buffet routine, though honestly the breakfast spread is pretty impressive if you’re into that sort of thing. The Turkish coffee is actually good, which you can’t always count on at these bigger places. Location-wise, you’re perfectly positioned if you want to explore — Manavgat’s waterfall is worth the trip, and the Side museum won’t take more than an hour but it’s fascinating if you’re into history at all. The hotel runs shuttles to the main Side area, which is handy because parking there can be a nightmare, especially during summer months. I stayed in late September and the weather was still gorgeous, but you could tell things were winding down from peak season, which actually made everything more pleasant. The 8.5 rating makes sense to me — it’s solidly excellent without being perfect, and sometimes that’s exactly what you want. It’s the kind of place where you can be as active or as lazy as you want, and either way feels right.

Hotel The common areas like the reception and some parts of the lobbies are refurbished and modern looking or in some places refurbished but in a classic style e.g the area where the cars are. Other areas may seem a little outdated. Rooms I booked a room with sea view and at first we got a room with a view on the garden. I had a chat with the...

We had a lovely trip to Paloma Perissia! It was clean, had good facilities and the food was great. There was plenty of space around the pool and lots of activities. There was also a really fun aqua park at a neighbouring hotel
The staff were very friendly and even left special touches in our room!
