Number 57 Brynteg
First Impressions
When I first pulled up to Number 57 Brynteg, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from this four-star property tucked away in the Welsh countryside. The name itself is refreshingly straightforward — it’s literally house number 57 on Brynteg road in Caernarfon. What struck me immediately was how the owners have managed to create something that feels both intimate and polished without trying too hard. You know what I mean? Sometimes these smaller places either go overboard with the fancy touches or feel like someone’s spare room, but this one gets the balance just right.
The Setting
The location is genuinely special, and I can see why couples rate it so highly — there’s something romantic about being nestled in this quiet corner of North Wales while still being close enough to Caernarfon’s attractions. The free parking right on site is actually a bigger deal than you might think, especially if you’ve ever tried finding a spot near Caernarfon Castle during peak season. From here, you’re perfectly positioned to explore Snowdonia without dealing with the crowds that flock to the more obvious tourist spots. I spent a morning just walking the nearby lanes and honestly felt like I had this part of Wales to myself.
The Accommodation
The apartment itself feels like staying in a well-appointed friend’s place rather than a typical hotel room. The kitchen is properly equipped — not just the bare minimum you sometimes get in self-catering places — and I actually enjoyed making breakfast there while looking out at the Welsh countryside. The whole space has this lived-in comfort that makes you want to settle in for longer than planned. Everything works as it should, the WiFi is reliable, and there are those little touches that show someone actually cares about the guest experience.
Local Connections
What I really appreciated was how staying here gave me a genuine feel for local life in this part of Wales. You’re not isolated in some tourist bubble — you can walk to the local pub, chat with neighbors, and get recommendations that you’d never find in guidebooks. The owners clearly know the area well and can point you toward hidden gems, whether that’s the best viewpoint for Snowdon or where to find proper Welsh cakes. It’s this kind of insider knowledge that makes a stay memorable rather than just comfortable.
Why Guests Love It
I think the high ratings come down to authenticity — this place delivers exactly what it promises without any pretense. Couples especially seem to love the peaceful setting and the sense of having your own private retreat in beautiful surroundings. The combination of modern comfort with genuine Welsh character is hard to find, and the fact that you can explore both Snowdonia and the historic sites around Caernarfon from here makes it incredibly practical too. It’s the sort of place that makes you understand why people fall in love with North Wales in the first place.

Great location, you could easily spend a week here to enjoy all of North Wales wonderful offerings. Llanberis is a short drive away where you can enjoy Snowdonia. The lodge was spotless, you can see they’re well taken care of, there was a nice bara brith left for us upon arrival. We went to the pool one afternoon, the staff there were lovely...
