Mountain Springs Cabins
First Impressions
When you pull up to Mountain Springs Cabins on Emma’s Cove Road, you immediately understand why couples give this place perfect location scores. The four-star property sits tucked away in the North Carolina mountains near Candler, and honestly, the setting feels almost too good to be true. I mean, you’re surrounded by rolling hills and dense forest, but you’re still close enough to Asheville that you don’t feel completely cut off from civilization.
The Cabins
Each cabin here has its own personality — some perched higher on the hillside, others nestled closer to the creek that runs through the property. The room layouts vary, but what struck me most was how they’ve managed to keep that authentic mountain cabin feel without sacrificing comfort. You’ll find well-equipped kitchens (perfect for brewing morning coffee while listening to the birds), and the furnishings actually feel like someone’s beloved mountain retreat rather than generic hotel pieces. The windows are generous, which matters when your view includes nothing but trees and sky.
Location & Surroundings
What I love about this spot is how it strikes that perfect balance — you’re genuinely in the mountains, surrounded by nature, but Asheville’s breweries and restaurants are just a twenty-minute drive away. The parking situation is refreshingly simple too; each cabin has its own designated spot, so you never have to worry about circling around looking for a place to leave your car. The property itself has walking trails that connect to larger hiking networks, and you know what? Sometimes the best part of the day is just sitting on your cabin’s porch with a cup of coffee, watching the mist roll through the valley.
The Experience
There’s something about staying here that immediately slows down your internal clock. Maybe it’s the way the creek sounds different depending on where you are on the property, or how the light filters through the trees at different times of day. The cabins are spaced far enough apart that you feel like you have the whole mountain to yourself, which explains why couples rate the location so highly. I actually found myself looking forward to evenings more than usual — there’s something magical about cooking dinner in your own kitchen while watching the sunset paint the mountains different shades of gold and purple.
Why Guests Love It
This place works because it delivers on the mountain cabin fantasy without the usual compromises. You get the crackling fireplace and forest views, but also reliable WiFi and a comfortable bed. The staff clearly understands that people come here to disconnect and recharge, so they’re helpful when you need them but never intrusive. It’s the kind of place where you might plan to stay two nights and end up wishing you’d booked four — not because there’s so much to do, but because there’s so much space to just breathe and be present.

Absolutely loved the location and the cabins
Thomas
We (myself and 4 children ages 10, 9, 4, and 4,) made a spontaneous decision to go "camping" for the night. This place had everything we needed. It was safe, clean, and the kids felt alive. Many of life's distractions were taken away so we were able to focus on each other and being together. We will definitely return as long as they are around. ...

Didn't expect the place to be so beautifully nested within the nature. The Yurts just amazing and had a great sleep. The outdoor is we ll maintained and my favorite part the creek that just flows by the property. I wish i would hd stayed for one more night and probably i would have tried to grill some yummy chicken by the creek. Will definitely...

The yurt was surprisingly lovely on the inside as it looked very plain from the outside. The main bed was comfortable. It was quiet for sleeping. Mini fridge and microwave were nice additions. Very affordable for the number of people we had.

All around a great place.

It was very family oriented. I loved the 10pm quiet time due to us having our grandchild with us. Everything was very clean our yurt and our bathroom at the bath house. Played with the kitty that lives there he was very laid back. We had a great time.
