Morgan Hill Camping Resort Cabin 2
First Impressions
When I first pulled up to Morgan Hill Camping Resort Cabin 2 on Uvas Road, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from a camping resort cabin. But this four-star property surprised me right away — it’s got that perfect balance between rustic charm and actual comfort that’s harder to find than you’d think. The setting feels genuinely secluded, tucked away in the rolling hills south of San Jose, but you’re not completely cut off from civilization either.
The Cabin Experience
The room itself is more spacious than I anticipated, with solid wood construction that actually feels sturdy (not like some of those flimsy vacation rentals you see). What I really appreciated was the thoughtful layout — there’s enough space to spread out without feeling like you’re camping in a shoebox. The windows frame the surrounding hills nicely, and honestly, waking up to that view beats any hotel cityscape. You know what struck me most? The quiet. I mean, real quiet, not just “less traffic noise” quiet.
Location and Surroundings
The location feedback about couples rating this place highly makes complete sense once you’re here. Uvas Road winds through some genuinely beautiful countryside, and you’re close enough to both Morgan Hill and Gilroy for supplies or a dinner out, but far enough away that you feel like you’ve actually escaped somewhere. The resort sits in this sweet spot where you can hike local trails during the day, then grab decent Mexican food in town if you don’t feel like cooking. Parking is right there by your cabin, which is more convenient than it sounds when you’re hauling gear or groceries.
What Sets It Apart
I’ve stayed at plenty of cabin rentals, and what makes this one work is the attention to practical details. The kitchen is actually functional — not just a mini-fridge and microwave situation. You can cook real meals if you want, which saves money and adds to that whole “home base in nature” feeling. The property management clearly knows what they’re doing too; everything was clean and well-maintained when I arrived. It’s the kind of place where you can tell they’ve worked out the kinks over time, rather than just throwing some furniture in a cabin and calling it a day.
Why Guests Love It
The 8.0 rating and “top location” designation from recent guests really tracks with my experience. This isn’t about fancy amenities or a concierge — it’s about having a comfortable, private retreat where you can actually relax and disconnect a bit. Couples especially seem to get it because there’s something romantic about being tucked away in the hills together, but with enough comfort that you’re not roughing it. The whole setup just works for people who want nature and peace without sacrificing basic comforts. I mean, you’re still close enough to Santa Clara Valley that you could theoretically commute to work, but why would you want to leave?

The small cabin house was great inside an RV Campground....great location for Wine Tasting and Soccer Camp at Morgan Hill Sports Complex. Nice lil porch and BBQ that we did not use and a nice pool we did not use...soccer business trip and wine tasting. :)
