I mean, calling it a “boutique hotel” might sound fancy, but it’s more like someone took a standard holiday accommodation and actually gave a damn about the details. The 6-berth setup works brilliantly for families or groups – there’s enough space that you’re not tripping over each other, and honestly, the beds are way more comfortable than I expected from a seaside spot. The whole place feels clean and well-maintained, which you can’t always count on around here. Parking’s straightforward too, which is a godsend when you’re dealing with all the holiday traffic that builds up along the coast during summer months.

The location really is the secret weapon though. Waterside Leisure Park gives you that proper holiday feel without being too chaotic – there’s enough going on to keep everyone entertained, but it’s not like some of those massive sites where you need a map just to find your way back from the loo. You’re literally a stone’s throw from the beach, and if you fancy a proper walk, Fantasy Island theme park is just down the road. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets in the evenings – you can actually hear yourself think, unlike some places where the entertainment goes on until all hours.
