Look, I’ve stayed at plenty of places along the Turkish coast, but METT Hotel & Beach Resort in Bodrum actually surprised me – and honestly, that doesn’t happen often anymore. The location in Eskiçeşme is perfect if you know Bodrum at all; you’re tucked away from the madness of the main harbor area but still close enough that a quick dolmuş ride gets you to the castle and all those waterfront restaurants everyone raves about. What really got me though was how they’ve managed to feel both polished and relaxed at the same time, you know? The kind of place where you can roll up from the beach in flip-flops but still feel like you belong.
The resort sits right on this gorgeous stretch of coastline – I mean, the Aegean here is that impossible shade of blue-green that makes your phone photos look fake. Mornings are absolutely magical; I’d grab Turkish coffee from their café and just sit watching the fishing boats head out while the sun was still soft. The beach itself isn’t huge, but it’s beautifully maintained and never felt crowded, even in late July when I visited. Their infinity pool practically melts into the sea view, and I spent way too many afternoons there with a book and whatever local wine they were pouring. The spa is genuinely excellent too – they use some Turkish hammam traditions but in this sleek, modern setting that somehow works perfectly.
What I really appreciated was how they handle the details that matter. Parking was seamless (crucial if you’re driving around the peninsula), the WiFi actually worked everywhere, and the staff seemed to genuinely care rather than just going through the motions. The restaurant does this fantastic job with both international dishes and regional specialties – their sea bass with local herbs was honestly one of the best meals I had in Turkey. Sure, you’re paying 5-star prices, but given that 9.1 rating, I wasn’t the only one who thought it was worth it. If you’re looking for that sweet spot between sophisticated luxury and authentic Turkish hospitality on one of the most beautiful coastlines in the Mediterranean, this place delivers without trying too hard to impress you. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need.
