Marsh Farm Holiday Park

HOTEL OVERVIEW
You know what? I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Marsh Farm Holiday Park on Mill Road, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. The name says “holiday park” but this place is actually something quite different from your typical caravan site. It’s got this quirky, boutique feel that’s hard to pin down, sitting just outside Great Yarmouth proper where the countryside still feels real and unpolished.
The thing about Marsh Farm is that it doesn’t try to be something it’s not. Sure, it’s earned a solid 7.6 rating, but what I really appreciated was how genuinely comfortable it felt – like staying at a friend’s place who happens to have really good taste and knows how to make you feel at home. The accommodations have this thoughtful, almost curated feel that you don’t get at chain places. I mean, you can tell someone actually cares about the details here, from the way rooms are set up to the little touches that make you think “oh, that’s clever.” The staff genuinely seemed to know the area too – not just the tourist trap stuff, but actual local spots worth checking out.
What really sold me on this place was its positioning. You’re close enough to Great Yarmouth to hit the beach or grab proper fish and chips (honestly, the seafront is maybe a 10-minute drive), but far enough out that you’re not dealing with all the summer crowds and noise. The location on Mill Road means you can actually hear yourself think, especially in the evenings when everything settles down. Parking was never an issue – something you definitely can’t take for granted when you’re staying closer to the town center. And here’s something I didn’t expect: the surrounding area is actually lovely for morning walks if you’re into that sort of thing. There’s proper countryside right there, with those classic Norfolk views that look like something from a postcard but without feeling touristy.
Look, it’s not trying to be a five-star luxury resort, and that’s honestly part of its charm. What you get instead is something more authentic – a place that feels like it belongs where it is, run by people who actually understand what travelers want (which is usually just somewhere comfortable to sleep and helpful advice about where to go). The whole experience feels refreshingly unpretentious, especially compared to some of the more corporate options around Great Yarmouth. If you’re the type who appreciates character over cookie-cutter perfection, and you want easy access to the Norfolk coast without all the tourist chaos, this place hits that sweet spot really well.

We were attending a music event nearby. Needed somewhere to stay, didn't need on-site entertainment or anything fancy. It was ideal for what we needed.

The manager Janine was very warm and welcoming and offered to go above and beyond especially when we arrived late. She made sure the heating was on for us and was very responsive to messages.

Perfect for our 1 night stay with the children. We only used it as a base for 2 days at the beach so ideal for us. Very small site so no large crowds making noise and centrally located for the beach, town and arcades
