Lunas Seaside Haven

HOTEL OVERVIEW
You know what struck me first about Luna’s Seaside Haven? It’s that perfectly imperfect kind of place that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled onto something special that the Instagram crowd hasn’t totally discovered yet. Tucked away in Corton – and I mean properly tucked away, you’ll probably drive past the turning twice like I did – this little gem sits just far enough from Great Yarmouth’s madness to feel peaceful, but close enough that you’re not stranded if you fancy fish and chips or a proper night out.
The thing about calling it a “boutique hotel” is… well, it sort of is, but it’s more like staying at your incredibly stylish friend’s coastal retreat. There’s no fancy star rating plastered everywhere because honestly, it doesn’t fit into those stuffy categories anyway. Each room feels deliberately different – mine had this gorgeous driftwood headboard that looked like someone actually combed the beach for the perfect pieces, not ordered it from some hotel supply catalog. The bathroom had one of those rainfall showers that actually works (you know how hit-or-miss those can be), and the little touches – locally made soaps, a stack of books about Norfolk’s coastline, proper thick towels – made it clear someone really cares about this place. I mean, they even left a thermos and good coffee for early morning beach walks, which tells you they understand their guests.
What really sets Luna’s apart though is how it sits with the landscape rather than fighting it. The building feels like it grew out of the clifftop naturally, and from most rooms you get these expansive sea views that change completely depending on the light and weather. I spent way too much time just watching the tide come in from my window – there’s something hypnotic about it. The breakfast area opens right onto a terrace where you can actually hear the waves below, and on clear mornings you can see all the way to the wind farms on the horizon. Sure, it gets busy during summer weekends (book ahead if you’re thinking July or August), but even then it never feels crowded because they’ve kept the room count deliberately small. The owners – lovely couple who clearly put their heart into every detail – seem to know exactly when to chat and when to leave you be. It’s that rare combination of professional service without the formality that makes you want to extend your stay by at least another night.
