Situated at 2 Great Ocean Road in the charming seaside town of Lorne, this well-established accommodation option has earned a solid 8.0 rating from satisfied guests who appreciate its prime location and relaxed atmosphere. The park serves as an ideal base for travelers exploring the magnificent Great Ocean Road, one of Australia’s most scenic coastal drives, stretching 243 kilometers along Victoria’s stunning southwestern coastline. Unlike typical Melbourne accommodations, this caravan park offers a more immersive natural experience approximately 138 kilometers southwest of the city, making it perfect for those seeking to escape the urban hustle while still enjoying excellent amenities and accessibility. The Lorne Foreshore Caravan Park distinguishes itself through its exceptional positioning, literally steps away from Lorne’s pristine beach where the gentle lapping of waves provides a soothing soundtrack to your stay. The park’s 8.0 rating reflects guests’ appreciation for its clean facilities, friendly service, and unbeatable seafront location. Surrounded by the lush greenery of the Otway Ranges that meet the ocean at this dramatic coastline, visitors can experience the unique Australian landscape where eucalyptus-scented forest meets sandy shores. The accommodation options cater to various preferences and budgets, from powered sites for caravans and motorhomes to comfortable cabin accommodations for those seeking more substantial shelter. Each space is thoughtfully designed to maximize the natural surroundings while providing the essential comforts expected of a quality 3-star establishment. The park’s layout encourages community while still offering enough privacy for a peaceful retreat, striking that perfect balance that has earned it its positive reputation among travelers. Beyond the immediate confines of the Lorne Foreshore Caravan Park, guests find themselves perfectly positioned to explore the myriad attractions that make this region so beloved. The township of Lorne itself offers a charming collection of cafes, restaurants, and boutique shops, all infused with the relaxed coastal vibe that characterizes this part of Australia. Adventurous visitors can explore nearby Erskine Falls, take on sections of the Great Ocean Walk, or simply stroll along the historic Lorne Pier. During summer months, the area comes alive with various events and festivals, including the famous Pier to Pub swim and the Falls Festival. Wildlife enthusiasts will delight in opportunities to spot native birds, koalas in eucalyptus trees, and perhaps even dolphins or migrating whales from coastal vantage points. Whether serving as a convenient overnight stop on a journey along the Great Ocean Road or as a destination in itself for a longer coastal holiday, the Lorne Foreshore Caravan Park embodies the Australian beach lifestyle and offers an authentic experience of Victoria’s celebrated coastline. With its solid rating, strategic location, and access to both natural wonders and community amenities, this 3-star accommodation continues to draw visitors seeking that perfect balance of comfort and coastal immersion.

Beautiful location, we got a cabin right by the river and there were kangaroos, ducks, cockatoos and other birds around. Foodworks walking distance away and quaint cafes right outside

The studio cabin was spacious, clean and well equipped. The bed was firm but comfortable. Bed linen and towels were very good. Check in was easy and the staff very nice.

What could be improved: Our expectations in terms of location were definitely not met. The cabin wasn't in the foreshore position as indicated in the name of the caravan park. It was right behind the supermarket on the other side of the highway to the rest of the park. It was also close to the receiving gates for the supermarket, so early deliveries were a bit noisy. We would have liked to have known this during the booking process so we could make the choice to book there or not.

- access was straightforward; easy to locate
- good proximity to downtown Lorne
- access (unit #1) was "too public" for that design of unit... although the entrance door did face the best location under the circumstances
- interesting side table lights - they work
- kitchen layout and amenities were good
- close to food shopping store (right next door)

What could be improved: - see note above re location as "too public"
- shower head installed too low for most people (including us, and we're not tall)
