The whole place has this low-rise, village-style layout that honestly feels more like staying in a really nice neighborhood than some massive hotel complex. The buildings are done in that classic Languedoc style with terracotta roofs and cream-colored walls, and there’s enough space between everything that you’re not staring into your neighbor’s breakfast table every morning.

What really sets this place apart is how it sits in Torreilles – this little coastal town that most people drive right past on their way to Perpignan or the bigger beach resorts. But that’s actually the charm of it. You’ve got the long, sandy beach right there (and I mean right there, like a three-minute walk), but it’s never packed the way Canet-Plage gets in July. The staff seems to genuinely know the area too – they pointed me toward this little market on Saturday mornings where locals buy their produce, and honestly, those tomatoes were better than anything I found in the tourist spots. The residence itself has multiple pools, which is smart because the main one can get busy with families during peak season, but there’s usually a quieter spot if you need it. Parking was surprisingly easy – they’ve got dedicated spots, which if you’ve ever tried to park near a French beach in summer, you’ll appreciate.

The apartments themselves are well-equipped (full kitchens, decent-sized fridges, actual wine glasses), and the 4-star rating feels accurate. Not luxurious exactly, but everything works properly and the beds are comfortable. I stayed in a two-bedroom unit and there was actually enough closet space, plus a washing machine that came in handy after beach days. The 8.5 rating makes sense – it’s not perfect, the WiFi can be spotty in some buildings, and check-in can take forever if you arrive during the Saturday changeover rush. But the location is genuinely special. You’re close enough to explore places like Collioure (about 45 minutes south) or even day-trip to Barcelona, but Torreilles itself has this relaxed pace where you can actually unwind. The beach here faces east, so you get beautiful sunrises, and there’s enough of a breeze most evenings to sit outside comfortably. It’s the kind of place where you end up staying longer than planned because, well, why rush?
