You’re looking at either a cozy 36m2 villa with one proper bedroom (sleeps six if you’re creative with the sofa bed situation) or stepping up to the 41m2 version with two actual bedrooms that’ll handle seven people without anyone sleeping on the floor. I mean, the space isn’t huge, but it’s laid out smart, and there’s something really satisfying about having your own front door and not sharing hallways with strangers. The kitchenette is actually functional too – not just one of those sad hotel setups with a broken mini-fridge.

What really sold me on this place though is the location. You’re literally a five-minute walk from the beach, but more importantly, you’re positioned perfectly to explore both the laid-back beach vibe and the wine country just inland. Narbonne proper is close enough for those incredible Thursday markets (seriously, go early for the best produce), and you can actually bike to some decent restaurants without fighting tourist crowds. The area gets busy in July and August – I won’t sugarcoat that – but even then it maintains this neighborhood feel that a lot of Mediterranean beach spots have completely lost. Parking isn’t a nightmare either, which honestly matters more than you think when you’re hauling groceries and beach gear.

It’s clean, the beds are actually comfortable, and the owners seem to care about maintaining the place properly.
